Death Doula/Death Educator

Quiara has been a death doula and death educator for 3 years. Death work is meaningful for them.

Fifteen years ago, their father died and he died a hard death. Since then, they have been dedicated to giving people their best deaths. What is a "best death?" The best death is the one that takes the wishes of the dying person and places them at the forefront of the process to make the final transition as easy on them and on their families as possible.

In their desire to provide the best care possible, they have expanded their own personal spiritual and cultural understandings to include many other traditions and practices to help each patient feel most comfortable and seen. They have devoted their lives to caring for the dying people and making the transition as peaceful as possible.

They are personally Jewish, but they are also certified as a naturopath and they practice reiki.

As a death educator, their goal is to help prepare people before they need their services as a doula. This includes preparing living wills and advance directives, how to draw up wills, types of final dispositions of remains and budgeting for final expenses.

Their rates are $25/hr but flexibility in payments can be made depending on financial situations. Death work is not just a job; it's a calling.
